Within the University

In addition to the , Counselling Service and the Student Equality and Diversity Officer, you can find support and help with a range of issues within the wider Support and Wellbing Team and our and the .

Helplines and External Organisations

Please visit for a list of organisations that offer help and support with urgent matters. Some organisations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via telephone, text, email and/or online chat.

North Wales GP Out of Hours

For medical care when your GP surgery is closed 0300 123 55 66 (Weekdays 6.30pm - 8.00am, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays).

UK’s student mental health charity – It provides useful information on looking after your mental health, supporting others, transition to university, year abroad, etc. [Look under Find Support on their menu.] It has a blog that is written by students for students.

Provides 24/7 wellbeing resources and advice and has been developed collaboratively with higher education professionals. Student Space provides individual support to all students through text, email, and phone 7 days a week, 3 pm to 12am.

myf.cymru:

What is myf.cymru?

The aim of myf.cymru is to improve access to mental health and well-being resources and support for students through the medium of Welsh.

What is available?

Information about self-care, mental health conditions, you can learn from other students about their experiences and much more, that can be accessed in several ways:

· Website - https://myf.cymru – the website has original content from Welsh-speaking students and resources about mental health that have been reviewed by Welsh-speaking therapists. The A-Z Mental Health section provides information on mental health conditions;

and within the Hwb Myf section there is original content from students on a wide range of issues that affect their mental health and well-being.

· App - myf.cymru has worked in partnership with the Moving On In My Recovery© programme to translate their app into Welsh. Full of useful and practical resources to support you on your recovery journey and will help anyone navigate the day-to-day challenges of life. · Sgwrs? Podcast - several students discuss the important issues relating to their mental health and well-being in the company of radio and television presenter Trystan Ellis-Morris and counsellor Endaf Evans.
