Sustainability in Construction

We are in the process of consolidating the University鈥檚 estate, creating new opportunities to integrate sustainability into the core of our design vision. Additionally, as we renovate our existing buildings, we will explore and implement cost-effective environmental enhancements, such as more efficient heating and cooling systems, renewable energy generation, and greywater recycling.

A new research facility for the Centre for Environmental Biotechnology is being established at the University鈥檚 primary field research facility, Henfaes Research Centre, to support the delivery of the . This initiative aims to develop biological processes as low-carbon alternatives to conventional products and industrial manufacturing processes. As part of the funding agreement, additional sustainability measures are being introduced, including roof-mounted solar PV panels and the creation of a wildflower area.

is a new low-carbon development, designed to provide tenant space and business support for low carbon energy generation and innovations to decarbonise the energy sector in North Wales. The landscape design proposals for Egni (M-Sparc 2) incorporates biodiversity enhancements to align with funding requirements.

Waste in construction

Any construction waste generated by a contractor is the responsibility of that contractor and is written into the procurement documentation.  All contractors working for 吾爱吃瓜 agree to dispose of any waste they generate according to the waste hierarchy.
